About Us - Redman's Work & Play

About Us

Redman’s Work & Play is our place to showcase our store, Redman’s Shoes, located in Alliance Nebraska.  We hope you enjoy the selection of footwear and apparel that we have been bringing to western Nebraska for over 35 years.  We think “Work & Play” reflects the product mix as well as the needs of our customers.  Work is not a bad word here.  We aspire to sell goods that work, whether that is for doing the job that needs to be done, or for play.  Shopping for a style or brand that has a proven, on the ground experience, is what you will find here at Redman’s Work & Play.

Alliance Nebraska is located on the western edge of the Nebraska Sandhills.  Our area has a strong ranch, farm and railroad base.  Many people work in one or more of these important industries.  It has been our job to meet the needs of this working class of friends and their families.

Redman’s Shoes has a long history in Alliance and Nebraska.  Our name came from a chain of shoes stores started by Joe Redman.  In 1980, Redman’s of Alliance started as a “sit and fit” full family shoe store.  Many things have changed in retail in the past 35 years, but we still roll out our awning every morning and bring a varied, wide selection of footwear and accessories to our area.  One thing that hasn’t changed is our staff.  Our owner, Dave, has been here from the start.  Our manager, Trish, has nearly 25 years at Redman’s, and Chris has over 15 year’s retail experience.

Jerry’s Work & Western was purchased from “Poor Jerry” when he was looking to retire in 2011.  We moved, updated and changed the business and the name to help reflect the new store. In keeping “Jerry” to give respect to the guy who changed a boot repair business into a work western retail business for the people of Western Nebraska.  At JWW we carry western boots for Men, Women and Children as well as apparel from Wrangler, Carhartt, Ariat and others.  Work or Play we have you covered from head to toe.

By combining the two stores, there is over one million dollars of inventory, ten thousand pairs of shoes and boots.  We have tried to be the “General Store” for our area.  Not all of our inventory can be displayed here.

Thank-You for spending some time at our webstore.  We appreciate you more than you could know.

Dave
